SUPPORT AFTER POSSESSION

Cedarglen Homes continues to support you throughout the warranty period of your new home by providing a Customer Response Team to help answer questions you may have. The role of our Customer Response Team is to provide you with the guidance and tools to make your transition to home ownership seamless. Should you wish to contact a member of our Customer Response Team, they can be reached at 403-255-2000 or by email (info@cedarglenhomes.com) during our regular business hours.

The Cedarglen Homes Response Team is now also available virtually to review any warranty items online through IrisCX. Depending on your situation, you choose to either schedule a virtual appointment to speak with one of our team members, or you can use the self-guided assessment feature to document and send us a video of your warranty concern.

Warranty & Post Possession Inquiries

I have a (non-emergent) question about my home specifically post possession, who do I ask? 

Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Response Team who will be able to assist you with any specific, non-emergent questions related to your home. They can be contacted at responseteam@cedarglenhomes.com or 403-255-2000. Please note the Response Team works the following hours: 

  • Monday from 8:00am – 5:00pm 
  • Tuesday – Thursday from 7:00am – 5:00pm 
  • Fridays from 7:00am – 12:00pm  
  • Closed weekends and statutory holidays  
What is covered by Alberta New Home Warranty Program?

Every one of our homes is automatically enrolled in the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, including a 2-year extension to the building envelope. This program offers the following warranty for each home: 

  • 1 Year Warranty on Materials & Labour (i.e., flooring, baseboards, trim).  
  • 2 Years Warranty on Delivery & Distribution Systems (i.e., heating, electrical, plumbing).  
  • 5 Years Warranty on Building Envelope (i.e., roof and exterior walls) 
    • Note: Cedarglen Homes has extended this to 7 years warranty 
  • 10 Years Warranty on Structural Items (i.e., frame and foundation) 
Do you have any recommendations for how to maintain my home now that I have taken possession?

Absolutely! Now that you have taken possession of your new home, there are plenty of regular home maintenance tasks that you should perform to ensure your home runs smoothly. How do I receive my landscaping reimbursement?

Please refer to your ‘Schedule B – Enhanced Specifications’ for exact details on your landscaping reimbursement. Typically, we ask that you email our Response Team photos of your completed landscaping for review and approval to ensure it is compliant with your required specifications. Please note that if you are planning on ‘xeriscaping’ then pre-approval from our team is mandatory.

What work is classified as ‘seasonal’ and will be completed after I take possession of my home?

Any outside work that requires favourable weather in order to be completed is considered ‘seasonal work’ and cannot be done until the weather permits. This can include exterior concrete, parging, grading and loaming, exterior paint etc.

When will my driveway be poured?

If your driveway becomes a seasonal item, a driveway pour schedule will be created as soon as the frost is out of the ground and work can commence. Typically, we start pouring around May long weekend, weather permitting.

If I have an issues with my home, do I have to wait until my 60-Day Orientation?

No, if you notice an issue with your home after taking possession you are welcome to contact our Response Team at any time with more information to document the issue.

However, the 60-Day Orientation is a great opportunity to highlight any deficiencies you’ve noticed while meeting directly with your Site Supervisor and together you can come up with a plan of action as necessary.

Is there a referral program?

Yes, because we are firm believers that good friends make even better neighbours! If you are a past or present Cedarglen Homes homeowner and you refer a friend or family member to purchase a home with us, we will reward each party with $2,500.00. Please note that the purchaser must provide this information to our Sales Team prior to writing their purchase agreement.
