Spooktacular Ideas!

By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator

With Halloween just one week away, it’s time to get into the holiday spirit! We’ve created a new Cedarglen Homes Pinterest Board (link) “Spooktacular Ideas” to feature holiday themed decorating tips. Our Cedarglen Team is also getting into the Halloween spirit with next week’s Pumpkin Carving Contest and Costume Contest. So for this week’s blog, we thought that we’d share our festive spirit by looking at some fun pumpkin decorating trends that we’re seeing this year!

pumpkin 1

This is an excellent (and kid-friendly) idea for creating a festive pumpkin without the hassle of cleaning up. By simply wrapping gauze around your pumpkin and adding eyes, you have an instant mummy pumpkin to decorate your door step!

Pumpkin 2

This is a great example of how grabbing a paint brush to decorate your pumpkin can create an extra “wow” factor! These pumpkins have a big impact with the contrasting black and white paint, not to mention they only require a little bit of craving work!

pumpkin 3

Every year I look forward to carving the traditional scary pumpkin, so I love how this idea doesn’t stray too far from my yearly classic! By carving the top of the pumpkin, rather than the side, these pumpkins take on a whole new look while still resembling the time-honored Halloween pumpkin!

Check out our Cedarglen Homes Facebook and Twitter on Halloween to see our contest results!

Have a good weekend,
