What’s the Buzz in S.E. Calgary
By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator
Calgary’s South East communities are quickly growing and we love having the opportunity to see more and more Calgarians call this quadrant home! Thanks to this growing population, there has been a steady stream of amenities and businesses also choosing to set up locations throughout the city’s South East. Here’s a look at some of the excellent services that’s the South East has to offer!
Shop Around Town
With the new communities, we first saw commercial areas such as 130th Avenue, High Street, Seton’s Urban District, Cranston Market and the Gates of Walden. With a variety of grocery stores, banks, restaurants and shops, these locations are definitely able to meet resident’s needs.
Health
Another great facility in the South East is city’s newest hospital, the South Health Campus. Built on 44 acres, this impressive hospital offers the latest in general specialized healthcare. It also employs 2,600 people and provides 269 sick beds.
Education
We were thrilled when the Government of Alberta announced a list of new schools to be built in Calgary and that South East communities will now have even more schools to offer residents. Check out our blog to find out more about the new schools coming to Auburn Bay, New Brighton and Cranston.
Transportation
If that wasn’t exciting enough, the City of Calgary unveiled plans for the LRT Green Line! With stops in McKenzie Towne, Auburn Bay and Seton, this will be a dream for anyone working downtown. Find out more here.
