Pumpkins – Not just for Halloween

By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator

At Cedarglen Homes, we love any opportunity to come up with a fun project! So when Brookfield Residential announced that they would be hosting a “Fall in Love with Riverstone of Cranston” event on Saturday, October 17, 2015, we knew we wanted to create a fun fall take away to hand out in our showhome. So our Sales and Marketing Department is getting crafty and making pumpkin vases. Here’s our step-by-step guide on how we’re doing it!

Step 1 – Buy a small-sized pumpkin. The pumpkin needs to be large enough so that it can be carved out.

Step 2 - Buy some flowers for the pumpkin flower arrangement. If you want to stick with the October theme, then go with flowers that have orange and red hues. Remember, the larger the pumpkin the more flowers you’ll need.

Step 3 - Using a solo cup, trace a circle over the top of your pumpkin. This will be your guide line to know how large to cut the opening. Next, carve out your pumpkin and place the solo cup inside. This will hold the water to keep your flowers fresh and your pumpkin from becoming a soft mess.

Step 4 - After you’ve filled your cup with water, start arranging the flowers in the pumpkin and voila! You have a beautiful centerpiece or house-warming gift for the fall season.

We are excited to be putting together these arrangements today. We’ll also be posting some examples on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. If you’re not feeling crafty or just want another pumpkin vase, then stop by our Riverstone of Cranston showhome on Saturday, October 17, 2015 between 12pm and 4pm and grab one that we will be giving away.

Have a good weekend,
