PHBI - New Homebuyers' Choice Awards

The New Homebuyers' Choice AwardsTM are different than any other awards program as the results are based entirely on the voice of the customer. Through extensive reviews of new home buyer satisfaction, we develop a quality standard and from that uncover the best builder in Alberta.
Builder members of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program with five or more possessions from November 1, 2015 to October 31, 2016, are eligible to participate in the awards program. There are over 600 active builders members who are currently receiving New Home & Builder Review results, and each of these builders have been surveyed, evaluated and tabulated.
2016 marked an amazing year for response rates. Rates reached as high as 89% for high-volume builders and averaged 73% throughout Alberta.
The New Homebuyers Choice Awards™ are based entirely on the voice of the customer. The specific survey questions that impact the overall experience are listed below:
When I moved into my new home:
| · The final closing date was confirmed with me in sufficient time to arrange for moving |
| · My home was ready on the date confirmed by my builder |
| · My home was delivered clean inside |
| · The pre-occupancy items, if any, were completed within the promised timeframe |
When considering my overall experience:
| · I am satisfied with the overall quality of workmanship and materials used in my home |
| · I feel my builder appreciates me as a customer |
| · My builder delivered on their promise of value (in terms of quality and service) |
| · I would recommend my builder to a friend or family member |
Each of the questions have been weighted to determine an overall experience score. More important customer experience questions receive a more significant weighting (such as overall quality, and the customer’s willingness to refer). An overall score is determined per builder, and the highest overall scores in each category are the winners!
On Friday, September 30, 2016, Cedarglen Homes was awarded the New Homebuyers’ Choice Award for 2016 ( in the single family homes category, 150+ possessions) making Cedarglen the best builder in this category in the Province of Alberta.
