October Events
By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator
I always look forward to the month of October in Calgary. Not only because of the beautiful fall colors, but also because of all the great community events that come along with it! Since October is packed with fun family activities, we thought we’d share a few that you won’t want to miss.
Cranston
There are great activities happening in Cranston upperlands and Riverstone of Cranston throughout the month of October. Stop by Cranston Century Hall on October 16, 2015 at 7pm for their Family Movie Night. Complete with drinks and popcorn, for only $5 your entire family can enjoy a night out at the movies! This month's movie selection is “Inside Out". Then on October 17, 2015, head down to the stunning Riverstone of Cranston between noon and 4pm. This perfectly themed event Fall in Love with Riverstone of Cranston will be celebrating the new park opening in phase 71. Kids can test out the new kid sized zip line, while the whole family can decorate mini pumpkins and enjoy warm beverages from the Deville Coffee Truck. Don’t forget to also stop by our Cedarglen showhome as we’ll be giving away some pumpkin centerpieces and Thanksgiving goodies! Lastly, to wrap up the month Cranston Century Hall will be hosting their annual Halloween Spook-Tacular event on October 24, 2015, from 1pm to 3pm.
New Brighton
If you’re a resident of New Brighton, it’s time to start brainstorming on how you can transform your home into a Halloween masterpiece. The community is having a Spook up Your Home Contest with a prize for the top three most creative and spooky homes. To enter the contest, submit pictures of your home prior to October 30, 2015. With plenty of homes participating, New Brighton is sure to be an impressive community for trick-or-treaters. To wrap up October, The New Brighton Club will also be hosting their annual Halloween Spooktacular on October 31, 2015 from 5pm to 10pm. Enjoy treats and the photo booth to start off the evening, then at 7:30pm stop by the monster mash up dance party. The dance is free for residents and $5 for non-residents. Prizes will also be awarded for best costume.
Auburn Bay
We always look forward to seeing what haunted theme Auburn Bay will come up with for the Auburn House, and this year they did not disappoint. The house will be transformed into Auburn House Haunted High and it’s prom night! The main event will be on October 31, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm but they will have sneak peeks on October 29 and 30 from 6pm to 7:30pm.
Enjoy the exciting month of activities!
