New Showhomes in Auburn Bay
By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator
A few weeks ago, we took a look at our current Auburn Bay showhomes that would be closing their doors and up for sale. Well as they say, one door closes, another one opens! So in this week’s blog we thought we’d take a look at our new showhomes that are opening in Auburn Bay this Saturday, June 13, 2015!
We have two models and as usual our Design Consultant, Sandi Fedorchuk, has done an amazing job decorating these homes. First at 292 Auburn Shores Way SE, is our popular model, the Huxley. At 2031 square feet, the Huxley is any entertainers dream home thanks to its open concept main floor and large kitchen island. It also features three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, upper floor laundry and a spacious bonus room. The home has been decorated with a modern/contemporary design. The showhome kitchen is a modern mix of walnut and high gloss white cabinetry paired with a white engineered countertops. Our Kitchen Designer, Ryan Christensen, had some great ideas when creating this kitchen. Here is a look at his thought process. "In January, as part of the forecasting required in design to anticipate client expectations, I wrote a trend analysis that culminated in exploring the founts of creative inspiration. This was around the time we were putting the Auburn Bay showhomes into the planning stage. The designer and I like to create a contrasted parade, where one home caters to the comfort of traditionalism, creating a space meant to appear inheritable of family charm. The second home seeks to break the mould, to color outside the lines: the Huxley, in this instance, became an opportunity to explore the draw of modernity, to create a functional living space with an asymmetrical pragmatism. When seeking inspiration to instruct my creative sensibilities, I visualized 60s-era linearity in order to create an organic space whose simplicity would recall the cyclical nature of trends. The kitchen in the Huxley, then, became a workable and visual representation of the Eames Chair, coupling the natural and organic complexity of walnut with the synthetic, inorganic simplicity of high gloss laminate, allowing for a contrasted finish both in terms of is tangible aesthetics and its metaphorical presentation of ideas. I can't wait for people to see this home. We sought to bring urbanity to the suburban scape, and I think we succeeded in 'gentrifying' the single family home."
The next showhome, at 296 Auburn Shores Way SE, is our new model the Chinook. This model has combined some of our favorite features, so we’re confident that it will be a crowd pleaser! At 2277 square feet, this home includes 3 bedrooms (with the option of a 4 bedroom layout), 2 and a half bathrooms, an open main floor with a tucked away desk area and walk in pantry. Although Sandi is thrilled about both showhomes, there are some features in the Chinook that really stand out. “It’s always exciting to see the showhomes that we’ve been planning over the last 8 months come to life! There are so many design elements that I’m excited about, but one in particular is the master bedroom ensuite in the Chinook. The standard model has a 5-piece ensuite with his and her facing sinks. When making the interior selections, we wanted to do something a little different, so we thought we would play up the ‘his and her’ vanities. To achieve this we selected more feminine lighting and plumbing for her vanity, but went with a masculine look for ‘his’ vanity. It’s exciting to break out of the traditional ‘everything should match’ mentality and try something new. Another nice feature in this home is the pantry/desk area. The pantry has so much storage space with easy access yet it is hidden away. The desk area is so handy for a family being so close to the kitchen. Easy to look up recipes or keep an eye on the kids doing their homework while supper is being prepared. It was very exciting see all of the selections made months ago all come together! Especially the dark grey cabinets, the farmhouse hardwood and the stunning glass backsplash.”
We invite everyone to stop by our new showhomes this weekend to enjoy some treats, as well as tour the new showhomes and meet the Cedarglen Homes team. There will also be a “Schools Out Event” in Auburn Bay on June 27, 2015. This is definitely not an event you want to miss! We already have a photo booth lined up in our showhome with a great beach theme. We’ll be sure to give you more details before the event.
Have a great weekend,
