Keeping Cool in our Communities

By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator

We’ve been having a great summer in the city which has left Calgarians looking wanting to spend time outside and looking for places to cool off! There are some great places to go in the city but in this week’s blog we thought we’d highlight the different options that our communities have to offer!

Auburn Bay has one of the most coveted places to cool off with its very own 43 acre lake available for its residence. Around the lake you’ll find plenty of activities such as volleyball courts to start up a game with friends and parks that will keep the kids busy! After the activities you can jump into the lake! If you’re looking for an activity on the lake, then fishing is an excellent solution. You can catch up to two fish per day (per member) or 12 fish per household in a month. The lake is stocked bi-annually with Rainbow Trout.

In the community of New Brighton, you’ll find a splash park at the New Brighton Club. Before heading to the splash park, try out one of the two tennis courts, the beach volleyball court, the basketball courts or the playground!

Cranston has some great summer day activities for its residence as well! At Cranston Century Hall, you’ll find two tennis courts, a playground and a refreshing splash park. Or head down to the Riverstone of Cranston and enjoy the beautiful view of Fish Creek Park.

Let’s hope that the great weather continues and we can keep enjoying the great activities that our city has to offer!

Enjoy the weekend,
