Get out and enjoy the end of Summer!

Don’t let the last few weeks of summer slip by you. Here are some great events going on in the next two weeks around Calgary:

Reggae Fest – Come by Reggae Fest at Shaw Millenium Park Friday from 4 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, from Noon to 11 pm. There is great music, food, dancing, and much more for the whole family to enjoy. For more information, visit Reggaefest.ca.

Taste of Calgary – Looking for a great way to spend the evening? Visit the 17th annual Taste of Calgary. From August 15 to 18, Eau Claire Market is hosting this delicious event. Visit tasteofcalgary.com for more details.

Global Fest – Starting today, celebrate Global Fest, a world-class fireworks festival. The event opens at 6:30 pm every evening and goes until 11:30. The finale will take place August 25, so make sure to stop by and see the show.

Cranston Family Movie Night – For $5, bring the whole family down to Century Hall at Cranston and receive popcorn and drinks while you watch Turbo. No RSVP required, payment at the door. For details, check out Cranston-connect.com.

Calgary Zoo – Head out for an afternoon at the Calgary Zoo. The zoo needs Calgary’s help to rebuild, so enjoy an afternoon of learning and outdoor fun. Calgaryzoo.com has all information on hours and admission costs.

Opera in the Village – This family friend event is part of the Opera in the Village series of events happening from August 22 to the 25. Calgary Opera presents The Pirates of Penzance every evening at 8:00 pm and matinees at 2:00 pm on the weekends. There are many other pirate themed free activities for the kids going on, as well as events for the parents too. Visit Calgaryopera.com for the schedule.
