Finding my Home in the Showhomes
By Sarah Ethier, Area Manager
A little over four years ago I began my journey with Cedarglen Homes. It has taken me from New Brighton, to Auburn Bay and back again. I am so pleased to call New Brighton my `Home Base’ once again.
Back in 2011 I was hired by one of Cedarglen’s Area Managers at the time to work with him as a Sales Associate in `The District’ project. I had one year of previous experience with a different Home Builder under my belt, but all in all I was still pretty green. I had no idea where this new adventure would take me but it didn’t take long for me to feel right at home. I immediately fell in love with Cedarglen Homes’ product, values and employees. This small, close-knit community accepted me and allowed me to begin to grow within it.
In the spring of 2012 I was asked by my Sales Manager, Allison Harvie to move over to Auburn Bay to work alongside Area Manager Michael Dwyer. I spent the next three years there working hard to prepare myself for what would be my next step. In that three years I was given the opportunity to be mentored, expand my skillset, and even grow my family with the addition of my daughter. I was able to make many connections in Auburn Bay, building lasting relationships and helping our Clients to build their dream homes. I truly enjoyed every day of work in Auburn Bay. I know people say things like that all the time but I really did! Although I loved the community and enjoyed working with Mike I knew I wanted to progress in my career, even if that meant moving on.
In May of 2015 I was offered the opportunity of a lifetime; I was given the chance to move back to New Brighton, this time as Area Manager of our Move-up Homes. New Brighton’s long-time Area Manager, Danielle Halstead had made the decision to move on from Cedarglen Homes to Cedarglen Living where she now sells multi-family homes. So here I am, a few weeks and many new experiences later, enjoying everything that New Brighton has to offer. The community itself has grown since I was here last - new parks, new homes, many new Residents and even more expansion on the way, with three new schools scheduled to open next year. And although I have ridiculously huge shoes to fill I am confident that New Brighton will provide me with many new connections, experiences and chances to help our homeowners design their beautiful new homes.
I am so grateful that Cedarglen Homes has taken a chance on me and I am determined to make them proud. I look forward to carrying New Brighton to its completion with our very last phase in the community and am excited for the experiences that will come next!
