Father’s Day in Calgary
By Stephanie Miller, Marketing Coordinator
There are a few things that you can expect this weekend in Calgary. Unfortunately one thing is rain but to brighten things up, you can also expect plenty of exciting activities happening around the city for Father’s Day!
If you’re looking for an activity in the South East, then Auburn Bay or Cranston is the place to be! Head over to Cranston Century Hall on June 14th from 12pm to 2pm for the ‘My Dad & Me BBQ Sportspalooza’. There will be different stations set up with sports and games for families to participate in, followed by hot dogs and hamburgers. They will also be collecting gently used men’s clothing which will be donated to the Mustard Seed. On June 15th Auburn Bay is hosting their Father’s Day Mini Putt ‘Par-Tee’ (I know...adorable!) from 2pm to 4pm. As the title suggests, the Auburn House will have a miniature golf course set up for kids to enjoy the afternoon with their loved ones.
If you’re not a resident in one of those South East communities, then check out some of the other events happening around the city. Telus Spark has plenty of activities planned on June 15th for kids to try out with their dads. With fort building and problem-solving challenges that have a MacGyver theme, dads are sure to enjoy themselves just as much as kids! If you’re looking for another activity that will fascinate the whole family, stop by Brick Roundup 2014 on June 14th or 15th between 10am and 3pm at Alberta College of Art and Design. For only $5.00 per person, your family can enjoy over 500,000 Lego bricks that make up some incredible creations!
We hope that you all get to enjoy the community this weekend,
